Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026 | Website: getaheadrealty.com.au

1. Who we are and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Get Ahead Real Estate Pty Ltd handles personal information through getaheadrealty.com.au, our linked enquiry pages, social media lead forms and property services. Contact details appear in section 14. We comply with privacy laws that apply to our activities. Nothing in this policy limits an individual’s statutory rights.

2. Information we collect

We collect information reasonably necessary for our activities: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, contact preferences, enquiry and booking details, property goals, preferred locations, purchase timeframe, investor position, and deposit or usable equity ranges. Where needed for an agreed service or legal obligation, we may collect identity and verification documents, address, ownership and beneficial ownership details, authority to act, transaction records, relevant financial information, and information about companies, trusts or SMSFs and their authorised representatives. We do not require bank passwords or online banking access. Please do not send tax file numbers or unnecessary identity or financial documents through ordinary website forms.

3. How information is collected

We collect information directly when you submit a form or readiness check, request a suburb pack, book or attend a call, communicate with us, engage our services, or provide documents. We may also receive relevant information from an authorised representative, an introduction you have authorised, agents, developers, professional advisers, identity-verification providers, public property records and other lawful sources. Where required, we explain indirect collection. If you provide another person’s information, ensure you have authority to do so and make this policy available to them. We will obtain consent before recording calls where required and explain the purpose.

4. Website and device information

Our website and service providers may collect IP addresses, device and browser information, pages visited, referral sources, timestamps, cookie identifiers and interactions with forms, links and calculators. Cookies and similar tools support website functions and, where enabled, analytics, advertising attribution and remarketing. Third-party embedded media, image delivery and social-platform features may also receive device information. We do not intentionally send identity documents, detailed financial records or sensitive form content to advertising platforms.

5. Why we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange requested calls, provide requested resources, understand your property brief, source and assess property options, administer an agreed engagement, communicate about transactions, maintain records, handle complaints, protect against fraud and security incidents, and meet legal obligations. We may use limited website information to assess and improve our services and measure advertising effectiveness. Readiness scores and calculator results are indicative tools; they do not determine lending approval, investment suitability or eligibility for an SMSF transaction. A human can discuss your circumstances with you.

6. Choice and sensitive information

You may browse or make a general enquiry anonymously or using a pseudonym where lawful and practicable. Some services require identity and contact details. If required information is not provided, we may be unable to respond, assess your brief, complete verification or provide a service. We do not ordinarily seek sensitive information such as health information. Where it is reasonably necessary, we obtain consent unless another lawful basis applies. Unsolicited information that we cannot lawfully retain is destroyed or de-identified where lawful and reasonable.

7. Who receives information

We disclose only information reasonably needed for the relevant purpose to our personnel and contracted service providers, including website hosting, secure storage, email, customer relationship management, appointment booking, IT support, analytics and identity-verification providers. For a requested property service, information may be shared with relevant vendors, developers, agents, builders, conveyancers, solicitors, lenders, mortgage brokers, accountants or licensed financial advisers where authorised, reasonably expected and lawful. We explain material referrals and obtain consent where needed. We may disclose information to regulators, AUSTRAC, courts and other bodies where required or authorised by law, or for permitted fraud prevention and legal claims. We do not sell enquiry contact details as marketing lists or authorise unrelated third parties to market to you without an appropriate lawful basis.

8. Overseas handling

Some technology providers or their support teams may store or access information outside Australia. Overseas property enquiries may also require disclosure to a relevant overseas agent, developer or adviser, with appropriate notice and authority. Likely recipient countries: [INSERT VERIFIED COUNTRIES FOR ACTUAL HOSTING, EMAIL, CRM, BOOKING, ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING, SUPPORT AND OVERSEAS PROPERTY RECIPIENTS]. We take reasonable steps required by applicable law to protect information disclosed overseas, including appropriate provider checks and contractual safeguards. We do not treat use of our website as consent to waive protections for overseas disclosure. Contact us for information about relevant recipients and locations.

9. Marketing and your preferences

We may send property updates, invitations and service information by email, SMS or other electronic channels only with valid consent or another lawful basis. Requesting an enquiry response does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated ongoing marketing. Marketing messages identify us and include a functioning unsubscribe option. You can unsubscribe using that option or contact us; electronic marketing unsubscribe requests are actioned within five working days. Essential communications about a current enquiry, engagement or legal obligation may continue. We comply with applicable telemarketing and Do Not Call Register requirements. Where required, you may ask for the source of information used for direct marketing.

10. Cookie and advertising choices

You can manage cookies through your browser and, where offered, our website preference controls. Blocking cookies may affect website functions. Advertising platforms may offer additional controls for personalised advertising. Disabling cookies does not necessarily disable all server-side advertising measurements or remove information already lawfully collected. We obtain consent for tracking where required by applicable law. Our published cookie information and settings must reflect the technologies actually enabled.

11. Security, retention and legal verification

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information and risks, including access restrictions, suitable authentication, staff guidance and provider safeguards. No website, email or storage system is completely secure. Use the secure document channel we nominate for identity and detailed financial records. We retain information only as reasonably needed for the purpose, legal record-keeping, dispute resolution and other lawful obligations, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Different records have different retention periods; statutory requirements prevail over deletion requests. Where we provide a designated service regulated by the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006, we collect and verify customer and beneficial-owner information, keep required records and make required reports. Legal confidentiality restrictions may prevent us explaining some disclosures. Where applicable, we assess suspected data breaches and notify affected people and the OAIC when legally required.

12. Access and correction

Contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information. We may reasonably verify identity before responding. We aim to respond within 30 calendar days, or advise you of a reasonable extension and the reason. Making an access request is free; any permitted charge for providing access will be reasonable and explained in advance. Correction requests are free. If access or correction is refused under an applicable exception, we provide reasons where lawful and explain complaint options. Where required, we notify relevant recipients of corrections and can associate a statement of disagreement with the record.

13. Complaints and policy updates

Please send a privacy complaint to our Privacy Officer with your contact details and a description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge it within five working days and provide a substantive response within 30 calendar days, or explain any necessary extension. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992, where the matter is within its jurisdiction, or another relevant regulator. You may seek regulator assistance without waiving other rights. We may update this policy to reflect practices or legal requirements and will publish the updated version and date. Material changes are notified where appropriate or legally required. An update does not itself authorise an incompatible new use of information already collected.
